One method, every subject: the SubjectPath catalog
· 3 min read

SubjectPath is built around one idea: a diagnostic should find where learning breaks down, not just report how far behind a student is. Each Path applies, or will apply, that idea to one subject, on a published standards framework.
One method
Algebra Readiness works this way today, and every Path will work the same way:
- Map the standards. A Path starts from a published standards framework, mapped as a graph of which skills build on which.
- Ask adaptively. Each next question is chosen from the answers so far.
- Find the break point. Answers are traced back through the map to the skill where prerequisites hold but understanding stops. Wrong answer choices are written to reveal specific misconceptions.
- Build the path. Practice starts at the break point and moves forward from there.
Math
- Algebra Readiness is available now. It’s for students in grades 3–9 and built on the Common Core State Standards for grades 3–8: the foundations every student needs for Algebra 1.
- Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Geometry are coming soon. They will be built on the Common Core high school math standards.
Science
- Biology, Chemistry and Physics are coming soon. They will be built on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
Literacy & Languages
- ELA & Literacy is coming soon. It will be built on the Common Core English Language Arts and Literacy standards.
- English Language Learners is coming soon. It will be built on the WIDA English Language Development Standards, aligned with Common Core ELA.
- World Languages is coming soon. It will be built on the ACTFL World-Readiness Standards.
What one method means for a district
A district that adopts Algebra Readiness today is adopting the method every Path will use: standards mapped as prerequisites, answer choices written to reveal misconceptions, and practice that starts at the break point. As new Paths arrive, they will follow the same structure. The way Algebra Readiness traces a gap in fractions back to the skill underneath is the way a reading Path will trace a gap in comprehension, or a physics Path a gap in ideas about force and motion.
That consistency is the point: in every Path, a gap will mean the same kind of thing, a specific skill or idea, not a general weakness.
Why every Path starts from a published framework
A published framework gives each Path a structure districts already recognize and can check for themselves. Each Path page names the framework it is built on, or will be built on, so you can see which standards it starts from. Each Path page also shows the published research behind it, with every source linked.
